    A quote that inspires me
“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all” (Aristotle)
I enjoy hiking, cooking and watching foreign language films.
Who was your favorite teacher and why?
My professor, Dr. Cristina Rivera-Garza has been an inspiration to me because of her love and passion for literature.  In her writings, she has the ability to blend historical facts and fiction to capture a reader’s mind and take it for a journey into an unexpected world.
I think all of my students should read…
El ingenioso hidalgo Don Quijote de La Mancha (Cervantes), Cien años de soledad (García Márquez) and the poetry of Federico García Lorca.
What advice or words of wisdom would you offer to students?
Tú eres la persona más importante de este mundo; quiérete mucho.
    Who is/are your hero(es)?
