Principal Update 3/27/23

Hello Humanitas families,

This is Mr. Austin, principal of the Social Justice Humanitas Academy with some important updates.

As a reminder, there will be no school this Friday, March 31 in honor of Cesar E. Chavez. Students will be dismissed at 2:20 on Thursday March 30.

Spring Break starts next week as well. School will resume on Monday, April 10th.

There will be no school on April 24th as we remember the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

All students will be given a COVID rapid test to take home this week. Students should test on April 9th or 10th before returning to school. Results do not need to be uploaded unless the student tests positive.

Students who need chromebooks to use at home should complete a request at device.lausd.net. Chromebooks will be delivered to the school and then given to the student. If you need help completing this form, please contact our office.

Families of current 9th grade students – please make sure you attend 9th grade advisory night this Wednesday from 5:30-7:00 in the Humanitas building. There will be a lot of very helpful information shared about health issues that are impacting our students.

11th grade students will be completing state testing on April 18-19 and April 25-26. Please make sure your 11th grade students are rested and get to school on time for testing.

Please continue to encourage your students to come to school every day. Attendance has improved a bit, but we still have a long way to go.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to contact the school at (818)838-3915 or info@sjhumanitas.org.
