Graduation Information

Hello Class of 2023 students and families!

We are coming to the end of your time here at SJHA and we have a lot to celebrate. You’ve made some important and difficult decisions about your future. You’ve only got one more finals week to get through.

First, we need to make sure that you take care of everything in order to be eligible to participate. This includes completing service hours, not getting more service hours, passing your classes, and clearing any debts – books, uniforms, Chromebooks, calculators, etc. You will receive a student clearance form that must be signed and submitted to Ms. Veloz BEFORE the graduation rehearsal in order to receive your diploma.

The Big Day:

When: May 31st, 2023 at 5:30pm

Where: CCLA Football Field

Who: You and 12 guests (six on the field, six in the bleachers)

Graduates arrive no later than 4:30p and will not be allowed to have cell phones on their person during the ceremony.  Graduates will be searched. If you are not on time you may be excluded from the ceremony. Ceremony starts at 5:30pm.

Tickets: Each student will get 12 tickets. Six of your guests will be able to sit on the field. The other six will be able to sit in the bleachers.  LOST TICKETS CANNOT BE REPLACED!! You will get your tickets the day of the rehearsal ceremony and only if you have submitted your signed clearance form.

Guests: Again, TICKETS CANNOT BE REPLACED. All guests must have a ticket. Your guests cannot bring in ANY of the following items: balloons, signs, noisemakers, any items that could block someone else’s view, or anything that the school determines is unsafe. We will not hold any of these items for you, so leave them in the car or at home.

Parking: There will be very limited parking on the blacktop behind the gym. Please carpool and arrive early.

Rehearsal: 9:00am on May 31st. PARTICIPATION IS MANDATORY. For real. If you are not there on time you will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.

Rules

  1. No pointy heels. These potentially could damage the field and could make you fall down. Same for guests.
  2. School dress code still applies.
  3. Failing to comply with any of the above mentioned guidelines may result in you being escorted from the premises.  This includes graduates.

Diplomas:

You will have two opportunities to receive your diplomas on Thursday, June 1st and Friday, June 2nd from 10 am to 2p in the Welcome Center.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Austin, Principal
